CATHOLIC TEACHING ON THE FAMILY

Cardinal Müller has condemned Synod mid-way report, claims Italian newspaper

Rorate Caeli, the widely-read Catholic blog, last night blogged about a report in La Repubblica, the Italian newspaper, that Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has condemned the Synod mid-way report, or relatio post disceptationem. La Repubblica reports that Cardinal Müller has expressed his “disappointment for an undignified and shameful report.”

That report – as well as how the report was sprung upon the Synod and the Church – has caused worldwide scandal. We thank God that Voice of the Family’s statement rejecting the report has been read by countless numbers (possibly millions) of people across the globe, via the BBC, Reuters, The Associated Press, and many other major news outlets.

It is very urgent for the faithful to pray for a good outcome from the Synod – read our statement earlier today: Synod: urgent call for prayer worldwide by Latvian Archbishop.
