The Rosary intention for April

That our bishops use their God-given power as successors of the apostles
to teach souls the sacredness of human life and of the family.

Despite the prophetic witness and unceasing work of the pro-life movement, we are in the midst of the worst period in world history of legalised murder, firmly in place in virtually every country in the world. Whilst pro-life groups have had many victories, saving countless lives, a significant proportion of Mass-going Catholics believe that abortion should be legal in various circumstances. To be truly effective in stopping the killing, there needs to be a miraculous strengthening in the teaching and preaching of Catholic pastors at every level in the Church.

Please join our daily Rosary in April that our sacred pastors will hear the cries of around 2 billion children killed over the past thirty years alone with the approval of national legislatures and political leaders worldwide.

As well as the growth in legalised murder of unborn children, lack of formation of the Catholic faithful is having disastrous consequences for souls:

In the San Marino abortion referendum in September 2021, 77.28 percent of the voters said Yes to abortion up to birth in a country in which 97 percent of the population profess the Catholic faith.
In the United States, the number of abortions has continued to rise each year, now well over a million abortions annually, and currently fuelled by the Trump administration’s support for access to the abortion pill
In March 2026, the House of Lords in Westminster approved legislation decriminalising abortion up to the moment of birth
And, in March 2026, Luxembourg has become the second country in Europe to enshrine the “freedom to abort” in its constitution, following the precedent set by France in 2024.

The Catholic faithful must be taught, week in and week out, that abortion is “an unspeakable crime” which, according to the late Cardinal Caffara, speaking at a Voice of the Family conference in Rome in 2017, is “the profoundest negation of the truth of man”.

We invite you, therefore, to join us in praying the Daily Rosary for the Family independently or even added to your usual Rosary intentions, but we invite and encourage all those who can to pray it in common with other faithful — laity, priests and religious. This can be done on Zoom every day at 7:45pm BST (11:45am PST, 2:45pm EST, 7:45pm BST, 8:45pm CET, AEDT 5:45am, NZDT 7:45am — from Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026, AEDT 4:45am, NZDT 6:45am).

By praying the Rosary in common, we not only answer the call of Our Lady of Fatima but offer others’ prayers as well as our own, benefitting more deeply from the promises that Our Lady made to Saint Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche:

To all those who shall recite my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and very great graces.
Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my Rosary shall receive some signal grace.
The Rosary shall be a very powerful armour against hell; it will destroy vice, deliver from sin, and dispel heresy.
The Rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies; it will substitute in hearts love of God for love of the world, and will lift them to the desire of heavenly and eternal things. How many souls shall sanctify themselves by this means!
Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary, shall not perish.
Those who shall recite my Rosary devoutly, meditating on its mysteries, shall not be overwhelmed by misfortune. The sinner shall be converted; the just shall grow in grace and become worthy of eternal life.
Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
Those who recite my Rosary shall find during their life and at their death the light of God, the fullness of His graces, and shall share in the merits of the blessed.
I shall deliver very promptly from purgatory the souls devoted to my Rosary.
The true children of my Rosary shall enjoy great glory in heaven.
What you ask through my Rosary, you shall obtain.
Those who propagate my Rosary shall be aided by me in all their necessities.
I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary Confraternity shall have for their brethren the saints of heaven during their life and at the hour of death.
Those who recite my Rosary faithfully are all my beloved children, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.
Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

The Rosary intention for April

That our bishops use their God-given power as successors of the apostles
to teach souls the sacredness of human life and of the family.

The Daily Rosary for the Family is the continuation of a Rosary Crusade, launched in 2024 in response to worldwide anti-life legislation facilitating the murder of the elderly, sick and disabled through euthanasia, the murder of unborn children through abortion and the spiritual murder of children through corrupting sex education. The scandal of Catholic complicity in these and other crimes is perpetuated by the failure of bishops:

• To promote Catholic teaching, as laid down by Pope John Paul II in Evangelium vitae (73):

“Abortion and euthanasia are thus crimes which no human law can claim to legitimize. There is no obligation in conscience to obey such laws; instead there is a grave and clear obligation to oppose them by conscientious objection.”

• To hold Catholic legislators who vote for abortion, euthanasia and other grave evils accountable, as demanded in the 1983 code of canon law (§915):

“The excommunicated and interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others who remain obstinately in manifestly grievous sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

• To protect children and young people from corrupting “relationships and sex education” programmes condemned by Pope Pius IX in Divini illius magistri (65):

“Far too common is the error of those who with dangerous assurance and under an ugly term propagate a so-called sex-education, falsely imagining they can forearm youths against the dangers of sensuality by means purely natural, such as a foolhardy initiation and precautionary instruction for all indiscriminately, even in public; and, worse still, by exposing them at an early age to the occasions, in order to accustom them, so it is argued, and as it were to harden them against such dangers.”

The intention of the Daily Rosary for the Family is therefore to offer reparation for sins against the Blessed Sacrament, and to obtain for bishops the graces necessary to lead Catholic resistance to abortion, euthanasia, contraception, IVF, corrupting sex education, gender ideology and other sins against purity. In addition to this, there will be a specific intention for each month.

The Rosary intention for April

That our bishops use their God-given power as successors of the apostles
to teach souls the sacredness of human life and of the family.

We are grateful for the kind support and spiritual guidance of faithful priests and religious, who have encouraged this initiative and agreed to lead the online Rosary. As one such member of a contemplative religious order has pointed out:

“In the last few months it seems that the situation on the life front has deteriorated considerably. The culture of death prevails inexorably … it is not a question of defending the rights of man but the rights of God, because sins against life are sins against Him Who is the way, the truth and the life. This perspective seems to me very much ignored even in the Church with disastrous consequences. Certainly increasing the Rosary Crusade would be very helpful. Only the Blessed Virgin can save us from this abyss of iniquity.”
