CATHOLIC TEACHING ON THE FAMILY

Weekend of prayer and formation: The mission of young adults in today’s world

The conference is now fully booked! Please join us in prayer for the young people and for the Church at this critical time!

VOICE OF THE FAMILY invites Catholic young adults aged 18-30 years to a weekend of prayer, talks and discussions in Rome, 19-21 October 2018, to pray for the Church and explore the Church’s perennial teaching on vocation, life and the family. The weekend, coinciding with the Vatican’s Youth Synod, will be a witness to faithful adherence to the unchangeable teachings of the Church.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Catholic young adults aged 18-30 years, who wish to serve the Church by faithful advocacy for life and the family, are warmly welcome to take part in this weekend of formation and prayer. Although it is a formational weekend, focusing on what the Church teaches about vocation and discernment, the participants need not have a particular vocation in mind. Deepening our understanding about the true meaning of vocation helps us to uphold and defend the Church’s teaching in the public square, respond well to God’s call in our own lives and to help members of our family and of the wider community to do the same. Our pursuit of the truth should always be accompanied with prayer. This weekend, too, will have a strong emphasis on the time of prayer, inviting those present to offer their prayers with the sacrifice of an all-night vigil for the Church at this critical time.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE:

Fri, 19 Oct: PILGRIMAGE; Faithful and experienced tour guides will lead the young adults on a pilgrimage to Rome’s holy sites.

Sat, 20 Oct: CONFERENCE and ALL-NIGHT ADORATION of the BLESSED SACRAMENT; Speakers at the conference include: Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Fr Anthony Pillari (UK), Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God (USA), John-Henry Westen (Canada), and others. A day of talks and discussions on God’s universal call to holiness, and his specific calls to marriage, the priesthood, and the religious life, will be followed by an all-night vigil before the Blessed Sacrament in the church of Ss.ma Trinità dei Pellegrini. This will be a prayerful sacrifice offered by the young people for the Church at this critical time — for Her bishops, priests and all lay faithful members of the body of Christ.

Sun, 21 Oct: HOLY MASS (traditional Roman rite) offered by His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke; The Holy Mass will conclude the all-night vigil on Sunday morning.

The cost for the full weekend including accommodation for 4 nights (Thursday, 18 Oct – Sun, 21 Oct inclusive) in a shared room with breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday is £270/€300/$350. The places are limited. Please request registration information by writing to: youth@voiceofthefamily.com

With your generous donations, we can help more young people to come and offer their witness to faithful adherence to the unchangeable teachings of the Church.

How can a young man keep his way pure?

By guarding it according to your word.
