A LAY INITIATIVE FORMED TO DEFEND

CATHOLIC TEACHING ON THE FAMILY

Lenten Prayer Appeal

During the holy season of Lent, please consider joining our prayer campaign and offering prayer, fasting and abstinence for a fruitful outcome to the Ordinary Synod on the Family to be held in October 2015.

The Extraordinary Synod in October 2014 was the occasion for sustained attacks on Catholic teaching on life, marriage and the family.

The battle surrounding the Synod is fundamentally a spiritual battle, in which every Catholic is called to engage through prayer and penance.

Through our prayers each one of us can engage in fruitful action towards attaining that renewed adherence to Catholic teaching that is essential for the building of a true civilization of life and love.

Never underestimate the importance of prayer!

“Your strength lies in your God and your conscience; therefore it lies not in your number. It lies not in your number any more than in intrigue, or combination, or worldly wisdom… Grace ever works by few, it is the keen vision, the intense conviction, the indomitable resolve of the few, it is the blood of the martyr, it is the prayer of the saint, it is the heroic deed, it is the momentary crisis, it is the concentrated energy of a word or a look, which is the instrument of heaven. Fear not, little flock, for He is mighty who is in the midst of you, and will do for you great things.

“As troubles and trials circle round you, He will give you what you want at present—’a mouth, and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay.’ ‘There is a time for silence, and a time to speak;’ the time for speaking is come.”

– Bl. John Henry Newman
