A LAY INITIATIVE FORMED TO DEFEND

CATHOLIC TEACHING ON THE FAMILY

“Filial Appeal” to Pope Francis launched

Voice of the Family welcomes the launch of the Filial Appeal to Pope Francis organised by a group of concerned Catholics.

The appeal, which has been backed by Voice of the Family co-founders John Smeaton and John-Henry Westen, asks the Holy Father to reaffirm those aspects of Catholic teaching that have come under sustained attack, from within the Church hierarchy, over the last eighteen months.

The appeal also draws attention to the threat posed to children by the sexual revolution. The hierarchy of the Church, especially in western Europe and North America, has been largely silent in the face of abortion, the imposition of psychologically and spiritually damaging sex education, and the spread of “gender” ideology.

Voice of the Family strongly urges Catholics, and all people of good will, to sign the Filial Appeal and give a voice to the most vulnerable among us.
